Victor Introduces Adam
- Tonight my co-host is Adam Raimer from Madtown Audio Productions. Adam joined the podcasting community very early on and in those pioneering days , like today we helped each other out a lot. He fell in love with the medium and decided to get involved by doing voice overs and general Podcast production. He does not currently do a Podcast, but I assist many people who do. Adam is also writer and plays an editorial role in the industry magazine Blogger and Podcaster Magazine's podcasts. Adam became a switcher sometime in 2006 and we have a lot to talk about tonight regarding Voice over production, podcasting and of course how he uses his Mac to do all of this. Welcome Adam.
PUT SUBJECTS HERE
- History of my involvement with Podcasts:
Early shows I listened to: Adam Curry, Trucker Tom, Mr. X & Just Julie, One Minute Tip, How to do things?-Todd Maffen, Geek News Central, Typical PC User Podcast, et. al. I listened to those early shows, and thought I could help. Currently actively monitor 93 podcast feeds.
- Talk about Madtown Audio Productions (I dropped the "aces". Someone said it was confusing as to what I did. So I just shortened it to Madtown Audio Production. We could talk about that if you want.) and our background. Also talk about my history with computers and my experience as a switcher/slider.
- I want to play a few samples of your work from your site and stuff you have done for FIT and Me ( like 4 or 5 short things). I Could give you some updated items to play
- Ok I'll use three of these and a couple you did for Me TPCU and FIT ok?

- Tips on how to record quality voice and media on macs.
I do most of my day to day recording on PC's. However I do use Garage Band for all my backup recordings. We can talk about the simplicity of using GB. I just use the Podcast Episode settings and all of the compression and EQ come out perfectly.
- What software do you use for this and how could the TMU use this
I use Sonar 6 Producer Edition from Cakewalk.
- We could talk about all the Apple products I own.
- 20" iMac (2.0 Mhz Intel Core 2 Duo)
- Mac Book (just got this several weeks ago)
- AppleTV (1 in the living room, I'm about to buy a 2nd one for my bedroom.)
- Apple AirPort Extreme (Got this just after buying the Mac Book, wanted the 80211n speed)
- 30gig iPod
- iPhone (If you want, we can talk about the problems I have had; though I love it and think it's the best cell phone I have ever owned.)
- Thought we might take a look at this:
http://podcastersurvey.com/ipcs07.pdf Just received this today. It was a survey I participated in some months back. Conducted by Dr. Dennis Mocigemba at Jacobs University in Denmark.
- Talk about Blogger and Podcaster Magazine's podcasts and your involvement
In June I was approached by Blogger and Podcaster Mag's managing editor Shelly Brisbin to produce all of their podcasts. I am responsible for outsourcing any voicing, producing the audio, packaging the podcasts and uploading to their server. I do solicit help from the podcast/blog community, so if anyone is interested in helping out, please contact me. We do allow podcasters or bloggers to plug their shows/blogs at the end of the pieces they read.
- Talk about your 3 fav Mac apps you can't live without.
