Ok before I introduce my co-host tonight I want to remind all of you of a couple of things pertaining to July since I'm going on vacation.

First: Next Sunday is MacMaintenance Sunday and Steve Stanger form the http://themacattack.us/ is going to be doing the show solo that day. So be here to support him , and bring all your mac maintenance questions and topics. Steve does a fantastic job co-hosting this show with me once a month and it's become a favorite of all of you. So come by next Sunday and support Steve, and go over to http://themacattack.us/ and subscribe to his show if you haven't done so yet.

Secondly: On July 8th listener Michelle (otherwise known as Countrysings) on the chat will be hosting the show with some of you. Please like Blake Tucker, and Michael from Texas. Of course it's a listener generated show so come by and be a part of that show, and I'll listen to it somewhere in Colorado.

Third: I have secured Guy Kawasaki who was an early offical Apple Evangilist and is a very important personlality in Apple's history to do a show with me sometime in July or Early August. Until then go check out his current project http://truemors.com/ a really neat social networking site that offers something really special. It's a sleeping giant of a site so go get in the loop now and turn yourself on to it.

Lasly, I don't know if there will be a regular show the first two weeks of July due to my vacation, but I'll likely put out something since I usually do while I'm on vacation. I've put out vacation sounds scene tours the last two years so don't be surprised if you get some non Mac content.

Whatever you do please call the Typical Mac user listener line at 951-281-6332 and fill out my voice mail box with content for me to use in the rest of July.

Ok with that said tonight's co-host is Don McAllister from ScreenCast on line http://www.screencastsonline.com. Don has cornered the market in providing great instructional screencast showing us all how to use our Macs and some wonderful applications he supports and that sponsor his show. Don also was a very early monitzer of podcast when he released his subscription onlhy content which is worth every penny in my opinion.

I do have to say that I have an affiliate link from typicalmacuser.com in the interest of full disclosure.

Don I know it's 1AM tomorrow there in the U.K. so thank you for doing this and welcome to the show.

Listener Question: Andrew Darlow wanted to know: " I would like to do a screen cast and then be able to easily zoom into different areas, kind of like when you use the built-in Mac Universal Access tools. (Cmd+Option+=) To zoom. I think that if I don't need the final video to be HD, then that might be a great way to do it so I don't have to do it when I'm doing the teaching." What do you think Don?

I can cover how I do it in FCP but I'll check to see if it can be done in real time during the capture.

Update - It does work in iShowU ( the built in zooming) but it's hard to control. I can talk about this for a bit.

Podcast and Media Expo

Looking forward to meeting up with Victor and Adam and most other podcasters at the Expo.
Getting there a day earlier to get over the timedifference and be ready to party!
Great time last year but this year a bit apprehensive as I'm speaking on the Friday afternoon on Screencasting (and possibly podcast monetisation). Open invite for anyone to comealong and say hello.
Any special podcasts from the Expo floor I can join you on :-)
!

what are some of your favorite day in day out applications?

Some favourites:
Launchbar - Still a big fan
iGTD - Excellent getting things done package
Skitch - new image capture tool and web upload tool
Picturesque - Great for beautifying images - reflections, etc
Bookit - Bookmark Management Tools
NetNewsWire - gone back after Google Reader
Twitteriffic -
Rapidweaver - Web Creation Tool
Scrivener - Outlining Package
MS Excel - Wish Apple would bring out a suitable Mac repacement - Use mainly for text processing!

Trying out PathFinder!

Explain XGrid concept to listeners as you are one of the only people I've seen use it.

This might be interesting if a bit limited as there is only Visual Hub that uses it but happy to discuss. Perhaps we can include a reference to turbo.264 - have you got yours yet?
SHOW ENDING:

Well I want to thank Don McAllister for being my co-host tonight and

special landing page details for the free HD versions of Comic Life tutorials:

http://www.screencastsonline.com/tmup

It contain a spash screen plus your affiliate link. It's probably best if we mention the affiliate link again on the splash page. My take is that it will be interesting to note how many new viewers to either thr free show or the paid show come across due to this evenings chat.

The Typical Mac User Podcast can be found at www.typicalmacuser.com and that shows is released weekly on Tuesday nights. This show will be release in my stream late tonight. If you haven't subscribed to that show yet, head over to the web site at www.typicalmacuser.com and hit the ONE BUTTON iTunes subscription.

For now this is your Host Victor Cajiao saying, enjoy the rest of your Sunday
